Tokens straight to the repo
A Figma plugin that turns a design-system team's variables into a pull request, ending the manual copy-paste between design and code.
The challenge
A design-system team at a fintech kept their tokens in Figma variables, but engineering kept them in a repo. Every change meant someone re-typing values by hand, and the two drifted apart within days.
What we built
A Figma plugin that reads the file’s variables, maps them to the team’s token format, and opens a pull request on GitHub with the diff. Designers press one button; engineers review a normal PR. The plugin runs entirely on the official Figma Plugin API and authenticates to GitHub with a scoped token.
The outcome
Design and code stopped drifting. A token change in Figma now becomes a reviewable pull request in seconds, with no hand-copied values and nothing lost in translation.
